Yarn Shop Café & Sip & Stitch Etiquette

Welcome! We're so happy you're here. To ensure a cozy, creative, and respectful space for all, please follow these community guidelines:

General Shop Rules:

  1. Be Kind & Courteous – We’re all here to enjoy and create. A warm hello and a smile go a long way.
  2. Respect the Space – Please keep your area tidy and clean up after yourself (crumbs, cups, yarn scraps, etc.).
  3. Mind the Merchandise – Handle yarn and supplies with care, and ask for help before opening packages or cutting samples.
  4. No Outside Yarn Sales – Please refrain from promoting or selling outside products during shop events.
  5. Ask Before Photographing – Respect everyone’s privacy; get consent before taking or posting photos of others.

Sip & Stitch Rules:

  1. Bring Your Own Projects or Buy in Shop – You’re welcome to bring your own WIPs, but we love it when you support the shop!
  2. Sharing is Caring (But Not Required) – Feel free to show off your work or ask for advice, but never pressure others to participate.
  3. Keep Conversation Inclusive – We’re a diverse community. Please be mindful of language and topics. Let’s keep it welcoming for everyone.
  4. Respect Everyone’s Stitching Style – All levels are welcome! No judgment on skill, speed, or technique.
  5. Keep Drinks Away from Yarn – We love sipping, but let’s keep liquids on the table and yarn in laps or baskets to avoid accidents.
  6. Time Limit – To ensure that we have enough space for everyone to gather, there is a 2 hour time limit. Please be respectful of your time.
  7. One Drink Minimum During Events – Help support the café with at least one drink or treat purchase during Sip & Stitch gatherings.
  8. Outside Food Policy – Please enjoy our café menu; no outside food or beverages unless approved for dietary needs.
  9. Limit Strong Scents – Some guests may be sensitive to perfumes or fragrances.

Support & Advice

We love to share our knowledge, but:

  • Basic help is free and friendly (e.g., yarn choices, pattern matching).
  • In-depth advice or troubleshooting (like fixing your project or explaining patterns) may require a consultation fee or a scheduled time to sit with you to provide assistance.
  • We’re happy to refer you to classes or online resources if needed!

Respect

Our staff is here to help — within reason. They are skilled, creative people.
Kindness is required. Disrespectful behavior (rudeness, raised voices, or entitlement) will not be tolerated.

Community

We strive to create an inclusive space within the community and encourage others to find community within our space.

Learning

We love to learn and teach others and share our knowledge. Supporting our shop gives you access to quality products — not unlimited time or personal services. We deeply value your business, but mutual respect is key.
