Learn to Knit: Tincture (hat) by Andrea Mowry
Taught by Catherine Beaulne
The herringbone stitch stands out for its bold, structured look, which many knitters love. While it might look like tricky colorwork, the Tincture Hat by Andrea Mowry uses a simple method. This eye-catching design is knit in Mosaic.
In this class, you’ll move past basic knit and purl stitches and try simple colorwork. Mosaic knitting is the easiest way to use two colors because you only use one strand of yarn at a time. You won’t have to worry about tangled yarn or tension issues. Catherine will teach you how to slip stitches to create this modern, textured beanie.
Experience Level
This class is for knitters who already know the basics. If you’re comfortable with knit and purl stitches and want to learn something new, this is your next step. We’ll guide you through working in the round, reading a mosaic chart, and shaping the crown. This class is a great way to start learning more advanced garment techniques.
